Where is My Mommy? was born from the pain and grief our founder, Samantha Ricks, has endured daily since December 22, 2021, when the Oklahoma Department of Human Services seized her son and daughter. They were placed in the foster system, several hours away in an undisclosed location, just three days before Christmas.
To date, her son Aurelius and her daughter Ida Rose remain separated from her. Her greatest hope is to be reunited with them one day soon. Meanwhile, she dedicates herself to helping others reconnect with their lost loved ones on their own journeys.
Samantha and her husband Michael Meyer, through Walking for the Forgotten Ministry—founded by Michael in 2012—regularly encounter homeless former foster children: now adults facing homelessness and oppression through no fault of their own. They pray to see as many of these lost souls as possible reunited with their families, bringing hope, healing, and restoration.
